Cabling & Bracing

tied the tree with knot
From the young age of a tree to when it’s fully grown, we ensure that the growth and trunk of the tree is stable at all times. We offer cabling and bracing in order to keep the tree in its place and to prevent any damage to its core and branches. This will help the tree in the growing process and will prevent any future damage in the case of a storm. Please call us, especially during the installation of a tree, so that we may add this service to expand the life of your new trees.

Why should you consider using our cabling and bracing services? Please read on to find out four good reasons why:

Restore Structure
During the growth of a tree, it can start to lean, curve and even have roots that start to grow out of control over time. This can happen when the weather in the area is bad or if the tree was planted in a bad area or in an area that’s eroded over time. The brace is set there to slowly bring the tree back into place, and eventually restore the trunk back to its healthier self. Without the use of the brace or cable, the tree could become unsafe as it grows out of control.

Prevent Damage
Cabling and bracing is best used from the very beginning. When the tree is first installed, have cables and brace guard and keep it stable. This will prevent the trunk from splitting from being too thin at first and keep it strong from the start. During a storm, a younger tree is more susceptible to damage, so it’s best to preempt this from possibly happening. This may also be good to utilize based on the area that the tree was planted. If it was planted on a hill, there is more of a possibility that the tree will lean out of place.

Promote Strength
There are many times trees will start to split apart, either from the trunk or because the branches are too heavy. To prevent this from happening, we’ll cable and brace the tree to promote a strong trunk capable of maintaining the weight on top of the tree. A stronger trunk will extend the life of the tree, especially as it gains more branches towards the top.

Follow Up Inspection
After installing the cables and braces, we’ll come back for annual visits in order to ensure that the tools are still working to the best of their ability. During the growth of the tree, the cables and braces may need to be adjusted to further support their growth. If a storm has passed, then it’s also best that we check to make sure that nothing has moved out of place. While performing the inspection, we measure the movement of the tree and analyze the best next steps to keep the life of the tree healthy.
